Laser Liposuction in Minnesota (Minneapolis / St. Paul)
At Hogue Cosmetic Surgery, Dr. Hogue has pioneered and perfected Hi-Def Laser Liposculpture with the Tumescent Technique using only locally-administered anesthesia to achieve amazingly smooth, stealth, and beautiful liposculpting results for his patients.
In the past, laser lipolysis was typically reserved for treatment of smaller, localized adipose areas. However, afterperforming laser lipolysis + liposuction (laser liposculpture) on thousands of body areas, Dr. Hogue found a way tosculpt larger areas. Presently, Dr. Hogue routinely performs laser liposculpture, sometimes in a series of procedures, toartistically sculpt a beautifully symmetric, defined, and curvaceous body from a generally obese body habitus. Internalmonitoring of tissue temperatures is performed by Dr. Hogue to ensure the targeted tissue temperatures are reachedduring laser lipolysis to provide the safest, most effective laser skin tightening.
Hogue Cosmetic Surgery specializes in the safest form of liposuction ever invented – Tumescent Liposuction, which uses a dilute local anesthetic containing lidocaine, epinephrine, and bicarbonate to completely numb the fat space. This is known as the Tumescent Technique. Using a combination of innovative laser lipolysis, liposuction, skin protection, and regenerative medicine (platelet-rich plasma) techniques, Dr. Hogue has consistently achieved world class results for his patients.

Abdominal Liposuction
Liposuction of the abdominal area is a cosmetic surgery procedure which involves suction-assisted fat removal to achieve sculpting and contouring of the abdomen. While the liposuction procedure may be performed under general, regional, or local anesthesia, the safest method is using the Tumescent Technique with only local anesthesia. At HCS, abdominal liposuction is done with an awake patient under local anesthesia using laser-assisted liposuction. There are several steps which include infiltration of local anesthesia fluid to numb the treatment area, mechanical disruption with a cannula to emulsify the fat and to ensure complete anesthesia, laser lipolysis which melts and heats the fat space to a specified internal temperature, then suction-assisted fat removal. Laser liposuction uses a fiber-delivered laser to melt the abdominal fat thereby making it easier to remove by gentle suctioning. Within the fat layer, the laser heats up the small blood vessels and connective tissue which results in long-term shrinkage of these tissues. Most individuals considering abdominal liposuction also need to consider the three-dimensional relationship of each area comprising the front torso which include the upper abdomen, lower abdomen, pubis region, and ventral sides (waist). It is important for anyone considering abdominal liposuction to have an in-depth consultation with an experienced liposuction surgeon to determine the safest and best lipo body sculpting approach.
