Lipodissolve in Minneapolis
Overview
Due to ongoing concerns regarding the safety, efficacy, and non-FDA clearance of lipodissolve, Hogue Cosmetic Surgery is not recommending or offering the lipodissolve procedure.
While advocates of lipodissolve depict the procedure as a safe and effective tool for dissolving fat without surgery, Dr. Hogue’s experience in using lipodissolve and in performing liposuction on patients previously treated elsewhere with lipodissolve suggests otherwise. Sonographic evidence of tissue fibrosis and calcific changes in lipodissolve-treated fat areas raise concern over its potential long term deleterious tissue effects, notwithstanding its potential interfence with subsequent liposculpting techniques such as laser lipolysis or tumescent liposuction. The controversy behind lipodissolve has caught the eye of regulators and the FDA has stated, "We are aware of the practice of using Lipodissolve and are investigating and evaluating it. It is NOT FDA approved. Consumers need to know that this is a buyer-beware situation."
