Hair naturally grows in six week cycles. Due to the varying patterns of hair growth, at least five treatments that are spaced six weeks apart are required to allow for permanent hair reduction. Each treatment will reduce the volume of unwanted hair by 1/3. Although five treatments are usually required to produce optimal results, there will be a noticeable difference with each treatment.

The Cutera laser has a 1064nm wavelength and is thus safe and effective on all skin colors. Laser hair removal does not cause any discoloration that would affect darker skin tones.

Laser hair removal is meant to remove dark, unwanted hairs. We find that white, gray, or fine blonde hair is more difficult to treat effectively with laser hair removal and that the results vary from patient to patient.

Laser hair removal treats the hair at the root and does not injure the skin. You may experience a slight tingly sensation during the procedure. The level of discomfort varies depending on the patient. Topical anesthetics are available to make the procedure more comfortable for you.
